Jobs canada - Jobs training efforts receive $23 million in federal funds

Money will retrain 2,028 who lost jobs to foreign competition. Macomb and St. Clair counties will receive more than $23 million in federal job training funds for 2006-07, a 64 percent increase in just four years, as plant closings and jobs losses mount.
Some 235 new jobs are on the way to Ashford University in Clinton. That's as the campus welcomes one building and prepares to build another. Iowa Governor Chet Culver was among the dignitaries to praise the new admissions center. It will be a support center for Ashford's on-line enrollment programs.
